Importing a playlist from Spotify to backstage.kollekt.fm

a step-by-step guide.

Getting started

Step 1: Go to backstage.kollekt.fm and login using your credentials provided by us.

Step 2: Select a playlist and open de importer by clicking the new ( + ) button next to the playlist title.

Step 3: Drag&Drop or Copy a link from Spotify to start the import. If you imported before, you can select a playlist from the dropdown menu that opens if your click on the input field.

The import overview

Before the actual import starts, you will see a preview of the import. This is an identical copy from your Spotify playlist. Tracks can be select or deselected by clicking the checkbox in front of the track. When a track is deselected it will not be imported once the import process starts. A track can be preview-listened by clicking the 'play' icon.
Curation data
When you 'enter' import modus, the left side menu will show you a little bit more information on the specific curation gig that is associated with the playlist that was opened.

👉  Information on the amount of tracks per playlist
👉  Amount of tracks added this month (in this case +5 tracks for the playlist morning glory)
👉  The associated curation gig with information on the curation agreement and progress.


On the right, the top of the overview will show you:
👉  The title of the Spotify playlist ( WAL (ALL DAY BEATS) )
👉  The amount of songs in the Spotify playlist (2064)
👉  The date of the previous time this playlist was imported (3 September'21)
👉  The amount of new songs since previous import. (11 new)
Status icons
In preview mode there are 5 different status icons:
This track is found in our database but not selected for import
This track is found in our database and selected for import
This track has already been imported
We don't have a 1-1 match with this track based on the ISRC code (musical fingerprint) in our database. Click to find an alternative.
This track is the same or very similar to another track. Click to see which track.
Hover the not found status button and click "Search" to find an alternative. You can preview the original or examples provided by clicking the "play" buttons. When you can't find the song with the default search query, alter it and hit search. Select the right track and click replace.
Whenever a song is already in the playlist, it will be marked a duplicate. Hover the Duplicate status icon and click "view" to find out when you added the track previously.

The import

Step 4: Check/replace all Not found, and duplicate tracks, listen to some previews to make sure you import the right Spotify playlist to backstage.

Step 5: When you are ready, press the 'import (x tracks)' button. The import process will start.

Status icons
While processing there are six different status icons, with 7 meanings. Find them here.
Pending
Processing
Completed
Failed
Canceled
Duplicate
Unavailable
Retry
When there are tracks with a failed status it could be that the service needs another retry. You are presented with a Retry button. Press retry and run the import again to solve the failed import.

Finishing up

Finally when the import process is finished the curation details & playlist content will update accordingly.

👉  Show the amount of tracks added next to playlist title
👉  Tracks are added to the playlist overview

Import history (Show older items)

When importing you can always hit the "show more" or "Show older items" button to dive in the import history of the current Spotify playlist you are importing.

👉  Add previously skipped tracks to current import session
